Dwelling amount: We recommend purchasing an amount at least equal to your home's full replacement cost (this is different than market value which includes land value).

Contents amount: A standard policy will give you coverage equal to 60% of the dwelling amount for no extra charge. Let us know if you feel that you need more.

Deductibles: There are two deductible choices to make. The first is for wind and hail (think of roof claims), and the second is for all other claims (water, theft, fire, etc.). The higher the deductible, the better off you will be in the long term. We can price different deductibles for you at any time.

Water claims: Pay close attention here since all policies are not the same. Be sure you know what you are buying. Here's what to look for in your quote or policy:

  • No water coverage
  • Sudden and accidental damage coverage (from appliance leaks)
  • Continuous seepage damage coverage (such as shower pan leaks or very small drips that happen over a period of time)
  • Foundation damage coverage (from pipe leaks located in the home's concrete slab)
